2016 – Gates of the Arctic

Great weather with great fishing – not too difficult.

We took a large group of 9 people, including 3 rookies, into the Brooks Range. The weather was terrific and the fishing for lake trout, Arctic char, and Arctic grayling was fantastic. We saw six grizzlies, including a pair feeding on a bull caribou. One grizzly came up close for a good look. There were some tussocks to remind us of what Alaskan hiking can be like. Three of the group were picked up half-way through, allowing a resupply.
